We started Backper because our own first wholesale order went wrong — a wire sent, a factory gone quiet, and no one to call.
In 2019, our founders were running a small outdoor brand and lost a season to a supplier that took the deposit and vanished. The goods never came. There was no escrow, no recourse, no human on the other end.
So we built the thing we wished existed: a marketplace where payment is held in escrow until quality is confirmed, where every factory is vetted and audited, and where shipping, duties and customs are handled end to end. Today thousands of buyers — from one-person brands to national retailers — source through Backper without ever taking on that risk.
